How does the scoring system work

The game really shines. I don't regret getting the game. The graphics is way better than BF-1942. The primary difference is that I manage to make kills in BF2, which I never did in BF-1942 using any infrantry weapons I suppose that is because the vehicles were over-powered in BF-1942.

Talking about kills, I am very obscured about the score. Two cases: I shot a gunner from a distance, who was firing around in a jeep running towards me. I checked the score board right away and 2 points were awarded. Another case, as Spec Ops, I have explosives. So, I put all 5 of them round our flag in circle. Then I climbed up to the top of the chimney and just kept watching for any incoming vehicles and ground units. Painful experience, 10 minutes later, my plot came to good use. An enemy jeep penetrated and break our perimeter. The RED guy escaped from his jeep which was on fire not long after that and I saw him killed one of our guys. He then proceeded to the flag. As he got inside the sandbags, I detinated the explosive. Bingo! I checked my score again, it was now holding at 6 points. So 4 points were awarded for that.

How exactly does the scoring system work?

You get + 2 for a kill, +2 for a flag neutralize, +2 for a flag cap, +1 for a flag neutralize assist or cap assist, +1 point for a resupply/heal/revive/repair, +1 for a flag defense, +1 for a kill assist or driver kill assist, +1 for a driver ability, -4 or -6 for a TK, -2 for a team damage. (Probably missing something)

I can explain 5 of your points, but I'm not sure where the 6th came from. You got a kill (+2), then a kill and a flag defense (+3). I don't know where the last point came from, did you do any of the above things?

I only achieve 2 major kills, the gunner in the jeep. And I blown up the guy who tried to capture our flag. According to kills, I made 2 + 2 = 4 points. I think 2 points for flag defense, because I delayed my detonation until our flag was down half the way, which constitues a flag defense. I thus conclude flag defense should account for 2 points, right or not?
