    Try updating punkbuster.

Welcome to Even Balance, Inc., home of the PunkBuster anti-cheat system.

Download pbweb.exe and place it into your BF2 PB folder (the default is C:/Program Files/EA Games/Battlefield 2/pb ). Run it from there, it may take a minute or two.

McGirk, please do not fill the forums up with threads on the same topic over and over, having 3 separate threads on the same subject serves no purpose and only fragments the discussion and the amount of help you receive.

I have closed the other 2 threads, please continue to use this one and post updates you have on your situation here.

          Many Thanks.

Did you update your video and sound drivers? What about your motherboard? Update PunkBuster? Make sure there is no filesharing or anything on in the background. Virus scan, try turning it off as well. These are all things that can cause a CTD. Also there is supposedly an issue with PunkBuster and onboard NICs (although I've never had a problem).

People have differnet ideas on what acceptable graphics settings/FPS is.

Ive heard similar problems, if you are using a network card - go into your BIOS and disable all other non-working networks. It seems that punkbuster scans the disabled ports and finds a dead-end, thus, crashing your game.

Try also updating your motherboard drivers.

                    Best of luck to ya

you have a 64mb video card? I think its dying due to multiplayer stress. Also i thought the minimum was a 128mb card for this game

                          64 Mb

I think my card just cant handle the multiplayer stuff...I can run singleplayer on bare-minimum detail...i adjusted my resolution also....it works a little bit longer, and then shuts off...

there is a difference between multiplayer and single player., for example single player is only limit to 16 man , while multiplayer has alot more action and has up to 64 ppl

Yeah it seemed like it couldnt function with that many people playing...I think I just might wait for my birthday...maybe I'll get a card or money to buy one...
