Heavy metal sniper

I almost never play as sniper but today -while on commander duty- I decided it might be a good idea. I was playing Oman on the MEC side, so I climbed halfway up the crane, pressed CAPS LOCK and started commanding. It went very well: my team was in control of the map and I got me a lot of arty kills to boot. I shot one American infidel trying to cap the flag with my Dragunov, but other than that all my kills were with big artillery shells. When suddenly *drum roffle* I was awarded the basic sniper medal. Yay! That's one sniper kill with maximum effect! Anyone else got medals in another way than you're really supposed to?

All you need is 5 kills while being a sniper for the badge. I got it while driving a apc. The same goes for all the other badges and some ribbons.

I got all my basic combats other than medic while in a plane, =P

You can be any class you want and jump into a Tank or Helicopter or Plane. Not only will you get the basic class badge/medal, but you will get the basic vehicle badge/medal as well. Its cheap if you ask me. The kills should be tied to vehicle, not class.

I totally agree... if anything the vehicles should be considered sort of like their own class for stat reasons.
