I read a post the other night and had to try it out myself. You can stick the c4 packs to the top 1/3 of a flagpole and use it to destroy the inevitable enemy helo that is flying in for a quick capture.
Here is the trick. Get right up next to the longer side of the flagpole stand and look up. Jump up and throw the c4 pack onto the pole. Be careful as it seems to drift to the left some when you throw it. You can ususally get 75% of the C4 packs to stick to the pole with the correct aim and a little practice. 100% after some practice. See file attached for the picture.
Then just run off and hide somewhere that you can overwatch the flag. In comes the helo for a hover capture, detonate the C4 and it goes down every time. Last night I was palying MEC on Mashtur City and I successfully pulled it off 4 times. Each time I got 5-6 kills plus a defend point! The Blackhawk gunners got me twice in my "hide" position b/f the aircraft got close enough to detonate the C4.
Lot's of fun. I wish more players would want to defend. B/t mines and explosives and a few rifleman a squad can hold onto a base pretty tightly...until the arty comes.
