C4 sticks to flagpoles = Goodbeye helo

I read a post the other night and had to try it out myself. You can stick the c4 packs to the top 1/3 of a flagpole and use it to destroy the inevitable enemy helo that is flying in for a quick capture.

Here is the trick. Get right up next to the longer side of the flagpole stand and look up. Jump up and throw the c4 pack onto the pole. Be careful as it seems to drift to the left some when you throw it. You can ususally get 75% of the C4 packs to stick to the pole with the correct aim and a little practice. 100% after some practice. See file attached for the picture.

Then just run off and hide somewhere that you can overwatch the flag. In comes the helo for a hover capture, detonate the C4 and it goes down every time. Last night I was palying MEC on Mashtur City and I successfully pulled it off 4 times. Each time I got 5-6 kills plus a defend point! The Blackhawk gunners got me twice in my "hide" position b/f the aircraft got close enough to detonate the C4.

Lot's of fun. I wish more players would want to defend. B/t mines and explosives and a few rifleman a squad can hold onto a base pretty tightly...until the arty comes.

I've play medic almost constantly the first month I had the game, now I play mostly AT and all I do is defend a CP. I travel very little, only moving if a nearby CP is in trouble of getting taken over and there is a lot of action there. But I pick a point on the "Front line" and just defend.

I've been slowly healing my K/D ratio by doing this. I love the jokers that come crusing in on buggys: one shot, three kills + defend point. Only thing I hate is I run out of ammo so fast. But I will share a little tip for you defense guys: use the kits that drop from the enemy players. I've been really lucky on finding support kits and AT kits. AT seems to be all the rage now-a-days. The enemy is nice enough to supply you with ammo to kill the next lot coming in. If you find a support kit, you have enough time to drop ammo bags then repick up your kit for ammo.

I also have that problem of running out of ammo quickly while using AT espically when defending a spawn point. I really wish they would bring back ammo crates and health lockers. You just cant always depend on your teamates to help you, espically on pub servers.

Wow, nice tip on the support kit Saldrin. Seems obvious but I never would have thought of that. And it's the perfect way to take care of business when your squad leader won't relay a supplies request or your commander is a dolt.

Unfortunately, the heli doesn't need to get that close to the flag to capture it, and the good pilots never do.

I think its map dependent. Every pilot that is capturing a flag will sometimes forget about the closest tow and thus the distraction can kill them. Its common sense that its going to happen to the chopper whores sooner or later.

i try to make sure i dont get low enough for this to happen. usually they pile c4 on the flag, i get close...not too close, and they usually end up tking all their buddies underneath my chopper, and maybe take one of my guys with them. either way, goo dpilots know this threat and act accordingly

I'm going to have to try this strategy and perhaps I'll get my damn Explosives Badge

Has anyone tried sticking one to the open end of a tow to see if it sticks to a rocket?
