      I Don't think this is exactly what your looking for, but it definetly helped me optimize my Settings. It's long, but it offered up some good tips.

        With the editor you work on an mod with the structure of an object tree, the object tree is build of all the .con and .tweak files in their folders. So you work directly with the properties of these objects and its all saved in the files.

          its difficult to use the notepad cause i dont know what the values mean
          if .125 is a greater zoom then .25 for instance.

          i would also like to swap out weapons and put other weapons in its place

            i understand that but the files for the weapon tweaks are not there
            i can see the files if i click on the bf2 folder but not in the mod folder the editor makes.

              I think for simple changes of kits or some properties like damage or ammunition-count its easyer to work in the files direkt with notepad or some sourcecodeeditor. But for Mapping and Effects-editing the BF2Tool is great.
              I'm no Pro-modder, I have just messed alittle with this tool and if there are some special tutorials for the various sections of the editor than it will be a great fun to work with.

                If it's the same as BF42 the zoom works like this:

                0.1 = 10x zoom
                0.25 = 4x zoom
                0.5 = 2x zoom
                and so on...you can figure the rest out.

                  strictly speaking, in bf2 the standard zoomfactor is 1.1 , so if you wanna have 10x Zoomfaktor you have to calculate: 1.1/10=0.11 or for a 4x 1.1/4=0.275 . Ok , thats not so much diference, but thats the way I think it should be calculated.

                  the changing of weapons is really easy todo, for instance: in the \Kits\US\US_Sniper.con

                  just change the line ObjectTemplate.addTemplate USRIF_M24 to
                  ObjectTemplate.addTemplate ussni_m95_barret

                  its really speaks for itself what it shoul do

                            You have to copy your ...\mods\bf2\Levels to your mod-folder, also you need some files from the original \mods\bf2\ . The Information is in the Forums what files you will need and how to create a custom mod. Heres some Link to an easy mod-setupTutorial:
