Lag, Old school lag, not crappy performance.

Last night, I was playing fine for hours on BF2 on my new rig. It was great.

This morning I've woken up to play and I can't. Every time I try I get "There is a problem with your connection." when I move. I've checked and theres no traffic when I'm not playing bf2, my ping is 30 when I'm standing still, then when I move it goes up to like 200.

    Solutions?

I have the same. To be safe I called my ISP to check on the line, but I am suspecting it's a BF2 problem.

EDIT You might wanna update Punkbuster manually. Some connection problems are caused by BF2 not being able to update Punkbuster.

Updating Punkbuster did the trick. I have an (almost) glitchless connection again. The easiest way to update Punkbuster is by using PBWeb. You can download it here. Read the instructions carefully, have a little patience (PBWeb isn't very fast), and you should be fine.

Some ISP's do not prioritise UDP packets.
        AOL is one example.

I've noticed some servers have a large amount ping sway, 30 then 600 and back to 30 annoying but not with out tools to see this happen before getting into a match. I use BF2 AL watch the ping for minute for consistancy then go. As long as it is consistant and under 250 you should have a good game.

            I solved it.

            Try it.

I had turned 16x AF on in nVidia CP and it made me lag for some reason, seriously as soon as I turned it to application controlled again it was perfect again. Try it.
