Well in BF2 a "Jihad" refers to a suicidal attack. For example strapping a car with C4 and slamming it into a tank. The C4 blows up on impact along with the car. In the real world I think Jihad means religious war or something like that.

As far as I know Jihad means "Holly War" as some one already stated here.
Noob, ________ whore, gaper (snowboarding/skateboarding), etc, etc, etc. The point is that commonly slung words are all offensive. If you want to live in an offensive free world be ready not to speak =P
The way it was explained to me, it means "holy war with oneself", or some sort of struggle with yourself to become a better follower or something along those lines. What we usually hear, though, is "AAAAAAAAAAHHHH JIHAAAAD!!!!!" while someone is running at a group of people with c4 strapped to themselves. So, blame religious extremist for disgracing the word, I'll continue using it that way until they're all gone.
