  • Hosting custom map problem

    Hi all,

    I've created a basic map for testing which runs fine locally.

    To distribute i originally zipped all the files in the actual maps folder. When other people tried to join the server, it crased at 14%. Then I read the map has to be packed. This time they can load the map, but when they click Join, there is a CTD. When I (the host) look at the player (Tab) list, I can see their name until they crash.

    Any ideas?

    Have they been able to play it locally on their machines?
    If not, I suggest they put their settings to medium or higher. Low graphic settings seems to be a no-no with custom maps.

      For you to host the maps you make you have to zip them up. Now knowing what files go in which zip you will have to look at other maps to find out.

        The other people have their settings on high

        I have been able to establish if they can run the files locally yet.

        The files are packed as instruced by the BF2 editor

          As posted in other places, the way to resolve this (for my server at least) it to ensure the other players have at least medium settings for terrain
