    are 6800gt 256mb cards power hogs, how much psu do you need for the 6800gt

    id say 400 or higher to be safe

      I believe the minimum is 350 watts, but get something over 400. I would go for a 500.

        450+ would be the best bet. also depends on the number of drives in your pc.

            Yeah you might get away with a 350W but you might not depending on the quality of the PSU. It also depends how much other power hungry stuff you've got in your PC. Either way 400W+ would be better.

              Don't go cheap with the PSU.
              I went and got the OCZ Modstream 520W with a 3 yr warranty and it also comes with the pci express connectors for future upgrades.

                I have a 240W PSU in my Shuttle XPC rig... Then again, its all about QUALITY and not just brute strength.

                  I'd like to know this as well. I just got the 6800GT card today, and my ANTEC case has a 350W PSU. I have 2 HD's; will I be able to get away with it, or is it time to go back to Fry's Electronics? Thx.
