Well I have a Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer and after almost a year of use, I started to get clicks in games. Not in music (sounds great) or anything else with sound...only with games. The clicks are REALLY annoying, I tried changing my sound card to another PCI slot, updated to the latest drivers but no dice =\.
I have had problems like that with my Audigy 2. Seemes like some motherboards and drivers provoke it to happen. I have also had some success with adjusting memory timings in the BIOS.
Try installing the Audigy CD and see if it works ok with those drivers. Then update and see if it still works. You should check the device manager in XP, Control panel -> System -> hardware -> device manager -> view -> resources by type -> Interrupt Request (IRQ) and see if your Audigy has it's own IRQ. If it doesn't try moving the card to a different PCI slot. Usually one of the PCI slots in the middle works well.
