I have a weard problem, I have a athlon 64 3000+ venice cpu overclocked, its overclocked to about 2.3ghz, I know the cpu can do more, but if I go higher, it just seems like battlefield 2 freezes anywhere from 30 seconds of playing to 20 minutes, usally within a few minutes though, my temps are fine, the weard part is, this speed of overclock and a faster is prime95, superpi, 3dmark, memtest ALL stable, even battlefield 1942 is stable, playing the dc mod for it also is stable, is something wrong with battlefield 2? I had this same problem with my old athlon 64 3000+ winchester. I've read that bf2 is *sensitive* to overclocked cpus, wonderd what you guys think, I posted on some overclocking forums and they think its a problem with bf2, and might be fixed in the next patch.
battlefield 2 not liking overclocked cpu?

I have the exact same processor and when I brought it to 2.4 gig I got a BSOD after 30 seconds of playing
I brought it back down to 2.2 Ghz just to be safe and now I have left it there.

just becuase its stable in those clocks with those proggies it does noe mean its stable in BF2, you need to either turn up the votage abit on the memory/cpu or downclock it some.Comment

actually, raising the vcore dident help, turned out, tighting my timings fixed the problem, i really dont understand why, I've done everything changing setttings to make it more stable, but took a long shot doing the opisite, I have the corsair value select ram wich stock timings are 2.5-3-3-8, I put the timings at 2.0-3-3-5, and now the problem seems to be gone, if your pc gets really unstable running those timings, like wont even boot or something, take your memory setting down to like 133 or even 100 and see if its stable at that, goodluck and say thanks if it worked!
edit: nm still problemComment
