sueing EA on Health and Safety grounds . .

I have been sat at my desk in front of my computer for very nearly 8 hours straight. I have done everything that a non computer nerd like me can do to get the bloody game to work. For a while I thought I had done it, that was until I decided to update. Well that blew it didn't it. I replaced the firmware in my Dvd Rom, I updated all the drivers that I know to update. I updated punkbuster, reinstalled, uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled and reinstalled again. I updated punkbuster, again. I checked my drivers, again. Everything, I did again and again and again. Escuse me Mr EA, but I am not A tecchie. I am just an innocent Lump Head who knows just enough to get by but not enough to be dangerous. I CANNOT GET YOUR GAME TO WORK!!! You are a provider of a service Mr EA, I have paid a lot of money for that service and I expect to get it. I don't expect to have to reprogramme my entire PC just because your publishing dept. has a deadline . . . hold the release, just get it right first time.

So now I think I shall sue you. For neck strain, eye strain, brain ache and RSI. Plus a new moniter and and three broken knuckles. That moniter glass is pretty tough stuff.

I have an adeqaute machine. It ran your demo just fine and dandy. The full game eventually ran when I cracked the "No DVD crack" conundrum, but when your update, thats your UPDATE! Doesn't work, actually worse, causes what was originally working to not to work, thats just careless.

So Mr EA, please expect a letter from my lawyer and the raised inclination of my middle digit. On my left hand, because my right has those three broken knuckles.

*Note: sent to EA support. If anyone knows why this bloomin thing keeps crashing on me (Starts to load, goes to black screen then dumps me out) after everything I have done please let me know. As of now I'm going back to the original install with the the DVD crack that I knew worked and at least get some play out of a game that I thought I liked lots . . . BOOOOO. Ow!*

Upgrade your PII 500mhz processor and voodoo graphics card and see if that works.

aside the rather petty ranting about sueing people... it sounds like your dvd rom is out of date, if a no dvd crack works for you then your dvd rom isn't accepting the copy protect software. the reason the demo worked but the full game doesn't is because the demo doesn't have the copy protection software and essentially has a built in no dvd crack right?
so here's the solution. either get the absolute latest drivers for your dvd rom or buy a more up to date dvd rom and sell your old one on ebay. you can pick up a good dvd rewriter for about £30 (uk) from places like ebay or amazon plus you'll be able to burn of pirated movies like there's no tomorrow.
so go get spending and please don't blame dice (ea didn't make this game) for having an out of date system. it has nothing to do with release deadlines or the publisher of a game that your dvd doesn't accept dice's customised version of safedisc.
oh and if upgrading that old dvd rom doesn't work feel free top sue the hell out of me for misinforming you.... lol

So let me get this straight,

You couldn't get your computer to run BF2 so you proceeded in smashing your moniter, breaking your knuckles, and then decided on sueing Ea?

Wow, you are a sad man

Try uninstalling any emulation or virtual drive software they might cause problems on some systems, at least older versions of such software or updating or disabling or last resort uninstalling them might help.

Also using latest chipset drivers could, help as they are the drivers probably tied down to the problm too, at least I've seen this in other games. Even if you got the latest from the website from the maker of your motherboard, the maker of the chipset of your motherboard might have the newer drivers, e.g. if you have a ASUS with Nvidia chipset, using Nvidia's generic drivers often means using newest and latest drivers.
