Computer crashes only when playing bf2

I've been getting this for a while now. after playing for a while my computer will restart, adn I get a blue screen error saying there is a problem with the nv4_disp file and the device got stuck in an infinite loop.

    Specs:
MSI ATI Radeon xpress PCIE mobo
    BFG 6600gt OC 128mb
    1 gig RAM
    420W PSU

I've called BFG's techsupport and they basically told me there's nothign you can do and it's battlefield 2's fault.

This gets really frusturating because sometimes it happens in the middle of a map where i have a good score.

Any body know how I can fix this??

Blue screens of death are called that because they mean something is really wrong with your setup.

I have found that BF2 will cause problems on an overclocked machine that seems stable under all other conditions, including a good Prime95, 3DMarkXX or RTHDRIBL thrashing. So first of all, you haven't overclocked anything (especially the video card) right? I'll assume you've had this problem at stock speeds as well.
Maybe try placing an extra fan (a big 120mm preferably) blowing over the card, just in case it's overheating (if this solves the problem, get a Zalman HP80D cooler, they are fantastic! I wouldn't run a high end card without one these days. We often have 40C, 100+F summer days here in Adelaide!)

Next, more obvious stuff. Try messing around with your nVidia drivers. You've probably got the latest ones loaded, so try going a step or two back and see if this makes a difference. The latest drivers usually make improvements for the latest-latest cards and sometimes end up causing problems with the older ones. (I'm running an ATI Radeon 9800XT, so I haven't done much research into nVidia drivers and BF2 unfortunately...) You might want to do some of your own research and see if anyone else is having problems with this card and/or driver versions.

Lastly, find a mate who has a stable BF2 playing machine, preferably with a nVidia graphics card, and do a swap. If the problem "follows" the card onto your friends computer, you can be reasonably sure that the problem is with the graphics card. Take it back to where you bought it and ask them to try playing BF2 using it!

It's not much, but I hope this gives you something to try at least.

I've tried many different versions of drivers, none of them solve this problem.

And I can't try the card on another machine, because I don't know anybody who has a PCIe motherboard.

READ my post on the blue screen crashes, I might have the problem solved some what.
You need to DELETE the NVIDIA folder in your hard drive, It keeps all the old drivers plus the new ones. Then delete the driver in ADD and Remove, restart your computer then reinstall the driver again. It is the game NOTHING more.

After reading that post I get the impression that you still get crashes.

That's the same thing that happens to me. I can play for a few hours before it happens.
