the patch?

I'm sure this has been talked about a lot, so sorry if I'm repeating, but what are the updates on the patch? I originally heard late august but have since heard people saying it'll be coming "soon." I've been away from BF2 for a little while so i was just wondering if there was any news of what was going on?

Yeah, i've got that same question. What exactly does this patch fix in the first place.

theres a big list on ea's website but all i care about getting fixed is the TKing

"Here are just a few of the fixes you can expect to see in the 1.03 patch:

* Server and Client performance improvements.
* Improved Server Browser – added Favorites and History Lists.
* Point-farming prevention - game will stop Support/Medic/Engineer point farming exploits.
* Squads - locked squad leader will get a message if someone wants to join.
* Many HUD improvements - see the names of others in your vehicle, zoom level changing depending on vehicle, map zoom depending on map setup (16, 32 or 64 player map) etc.
* Teamkilling changes – the logic of how teamkills are tracked will be changed.
* Gameplay tweaks - the way transport helicopters work will be tweaked.
* Additional scoring changes - players who destroy an enemy commander's assets will be given points.

There are over 140 fixes and improvements in the 1.03 patch and we're looking forward to everyone moving to 1.03 to get the best Battlefield 2 experience on a level, cheat-free playing field."

I hope the 140 fixes include eliminating the hoppers and prone jumpers, and stopping the auto balance from sending you to the losing team when the lamers drop in the last few minutes of play and you get screwed out of the double points.

hoppers and droppers .. = floppers .. i hope this gets fixed ASAP . i think its stupid to run "Flopp" to prone and fire your weaponn ... i mean it seems that they are going for realism here ( in some aspects ) so get rid of the hopp & flopp ..if you hop you get tired .. if your flopp you have to wait for your weapon to pop up and then start shooting ... its like (RTCW ) =wolfenstien & COD all over again
but the game rocks ..lots of fun .
also how do you name a squad ... ?
