This happened to me last night. I got a good laugh at it, and thought some others here might like it as well.
I was playing on Dragon Valley, but, it's getting very late and the server is starting to die. There's only about 6 or 7 people playing on each side, and it's the 64 player map. Needless to say, the map is taking FOREVER to complete. The damn thing must have gone on for at least a good hour and a half. 95% of the players on both sides are in aircraft of some kind, so there's A LOT of dogfighting going on, but not much flag-capping.
Anyway, there's this one guy on my team who has spent about the first hour of the round piloting the chopper... and he's not very good at it. I don't think he ever had more than a minute or two of continuous flight time before he would just get owned by the chopper pilot on the opposing team. Well, about an hour into the map (I've been playing inf. for the whole thing) I spawn at the airfield and see our chopper sitting empty on the pad. I figure: "What the heck, I've been playing inf. long enough... it's my turn to fly for a bit."
So, I make a run for it. But, what I don't know is that this guy who's been piloting the whole map is right behind me, also running for it. I get there first, jump into the pilot seat and see him in front of the chopper. I issue a "get in!"
Then comes a message from him: "Get out! That's my chopper!"
"Really? I don't see your name on it." I said.
"I've been using it the whole map. Get out!" He replies.
"Well, I guess it's time to give someone else a turn then, huh?" I responded.
So, what does this joker do? Get this: He's playing AT. He takes a couple of steps back and lets fly with his rocket launcher into the side of the Heli. The heli's damage drops to half. BUT, I'm sitting on the pad, so it quickly gets repaired. And, just a split second after the heli becomes fully repaired, his launcher is reloaded and he lets fly with another rocket, again taking the heli down to half damage. The heli repairs, and he shoots another. And, he keeps doing this, over and over.
Now here's the really funny thing: I tab into the scores and look at his name... sure enough, with each rocket he launches I watch his score drop: 48 points... 46 points... 44 points... 42 points. And, he keeps going and going. I was wondering where he's getting all the ammo from... but then I realized, this is at the Chinese base at the back of the map, the one where the chopper spawns right next to UAV trailer. Well, it seems as though some USMC spec-ops had blown the trailer earlier, and the commander had dropped a crate to repair it. So, this guy just keeps reloading from it and firing his rockets into my chopper.
I watched him drop a good 20 points or so at least off of his score before I finally started to get bored and said:
"I don't mind doing this all day, so keep going, but look at your score."
And, that was it... as soon as I said that, I saw him run into my FOV and head for a jeep. I took off in the chopper, flew for about two minutes and got owned by the chopper pilot on the opposing team
I sometimes think that this game would be a lot better if there was some sort of minimum IQ requirement to play.
