server connection crash, uninstalled now won't load up!!

ok, here's how my problem has gone:

i attempt to connect to a server, double click it or put in the IP, it gives me the "joining server" message, and then the message cuts out and it just shows the server selection screen.... every server does this, and i cant seem to play the game at all? but i cannot connect to a server, period, by any means. xfire, ASE, via IP, even that "PLAY NOW!" arrow thing.

    ermmm.... clunk.

i attempted to uninstall BF2, didnt work... i tried all sorts of methods (the uninstall.exe, through add/remove programs, etc.) but nothing....

at this point, when i put the CD in, the autoplay menu comes up with "install" where it should say play, even tho the game is (aparantly) still installed, i can start it up, etc. just cant connect to things....

i delete the BF2 folder, and now im really messed. i cant do ANYTHING now, and when i try to install it, it loads up the setup, the setup screen flashes quickly and then crashes immediately, the entire thing.

ive REALLY gone and done it now. tried cleaning the registry, tried everything i can think of. what could this possibly be??? (besides a major case of the PEBKAC!)

Search your registry (regedit) and delete all keys refering to "BF2" and "Battlefield 2". Delete the Battlefield 2 folder under Programs\Eagames or wherever you installed it. Delete the BF2 folder in My Documents. Reboot. Place disk in drive and try agian. This should work.

Raincoat! Fixed it! There's a registry key that's like hiding -.-

Go to Local Machine, Windows, Current Version, Uninstall, and then the one that starts with {04????????????????????? I believe. It'll talk about the BF2 directory on the right side. Delete that, restart computer, and viola! it works!
