3d view not working

I only noticed this in single player (so far) I start the game and I can see in my 3d map (not the map at the top right) where all the flags are and how far they are (just like pressing Q in BFV). Then I die and when I respawn, the 3D MAP is gone.

HAs anyone else seen this and is there a way to turn this on or off?
