BF2 being ruined by pathetic bugs

BF2 has to be THE most tempermental game ive ever played. THe new benhcmark in gaming it certainly is,however this unmodified content error is really really really f'ing me off as well as trying to load the game and it just goes back to the desktop.

Ive installed the game about .... ive lost count, I follow steps from various people and they all work for one day, next day I turn my pc on ive done NOTHING to my config or folders oir files, completely standard and I get this frigging error, so I hav eto uninstall reboot, install, reboot, patch, reboot pbwebupdate, enter my controls ,forced resolution all just for it to work one day, then I have to do it again the next day.
    WTF is going on?
someone else must have this pattern of errors?
    cheers Leigh

Memtest86+ is an advanced, free, open-source, stand-alone memory tester for 32- and 64-bit computers (UEFI & BIOS supported)

Do the test from the link above - let it run through several hours to get reliable results and post your result here.

You think this is bad? When BFV first came out I had to wait a whole week till the first patch came out because my game crashed within 5 mins, every single time.

I love BF2 -- granted it took me about a month to get it working this well...

I love BF2 also, but I hate the fact that any hardware change/upgrade is met with a game that needs to be reinstalled. That's foolish. I like to OC and mess with stuff so now I'm scared of screwing up BF2 by making adjustments to my machine.

I hate the jittering problem BF2 has. Hopefully more patches will clear this up. Also the occasional stutter and freeze ups still exist in the server list menu on multiplayer.

Man i totally empathise with you. If this was any other game i would have taken it back for a refund by now or tossed it in the bin . Ive got that dropping back to desktop thing happening now . However a dude just revealed to me what might be the prob . I deleted my drivers and didnt re-install them before i booted up and i got the found new hardware thing happening . Thats the only thing that has changed since last night when it was working fine . So now im taking the dudes advice and reinstalling the game . Ill let u know if it works shortly

I'm a little confused on this one. You're having Crash to Desktop issues and you uninstalled your video drivers. When you reboot you'll be prompted to search for the required drivers. I take it you're letting windows use it's own default drivers instead? Or are you inserting the install disk and letting windows install only what it needs?

Oh and DeathGiver. I'd definitely try to ignore that statement I made.

Reinstalling did nothing . However reinstalling the latest drivers rectified the problem . Some dude advised me to roll back to previous drivers to fix a problem i had with my display. This was obviously incorrect . Its late but now i can play :-)

I have at least 15 newer model motherboards here
at the house.. about 8 differant video cards, several 512 ddr2 chips,
etc etc.. and tried BF2 on all of them with similar results..
UNSTABLE as hell.. at the most I would get 3 games in before a
                              crash, lockup or reboot..

Ive had the best success with my new Abit AN8-SLI Fatality board with a
                              3000+/64 and 2GB DDR2 combined with a new ATI X800XL/256.

But still, every 6-8 games it will crash..exit to desktop...freeze or
                              whatever..

BF2 is a GREAT game, but flaky as hell..

Im recommending 2GB RAM to anyone I know buying this game
and a VERY good video card..
