Yes lets cook the game instead of getting some money from it by selling it on e-bay or taking it back!!

Good thing you can play now before you made that mistake

For me this games got worse not better.

Started off with the stuttering, that most people where getting, cured that with another 1gig memory or so I thought, now the game plays but stutters when a chopper flys over, reinstalled it all was fine did the optimizing shaders on first connect and all was well, then I connected to another server and it optimized shaders again and yep I was back to the stuttering.

I am not willing to reinstall this game everytime i want to play, I did try deleting the shaders before I play but nope its back to the stuttering, and tonight it started doing it on karkand (no choppers), funny thing is when it happens I can look one direction and its fine but turn around and stutter.

        My setup :
        Amd 3000+ Barton
        2GIG 3200DDR running duel channel
Glaxay Glacier 6800GT (Factory clocked at 370)
        80Gig Sata
        Pioneer 8x8DVDr

Game running on high, x2 AA, Apart from lighting which is at mid.
Machine fits the specs to play the game.

I've even seen machines with far better spec then mine having problems.

My problem is I spent £400 on upgrading this machine so to play BF2 and im disabled so the money was not easy to get, and now I find I still can't play the game and may need a better CPU (£250), which means a new motherboard (£50) as well and theres no way can I afford them.

I just hope the 1.03 patch will help me. :)

Apart from that above it's a damn fine game, really enjoy playing it when it does not stutter.

You haven't mentioned the fact that you haven't tried turning off your firewall. 90% of these "issues" come from people missing something or doing something wrong (by people, I mean you). So, first try turning off your firewall completely (and that means killing any processes related to the firewall as well) and see what happens.. bet ya it will work :)

.. if you get the same issue then it's the game. If the game works, then it's your firewall.

Took the firewall to DMZ, still the same, used a modem (no firewall) instead of the router (firewall), made sure XP Firewall was off, still the same, I have tryed everything on these and other forums to sort it and nothing seems to work, even upgraded from IDE to Sata drives and it did not help.

Reformatted, defragged, run mem tests, BF1942/DC, BFV, Doom3, Farcry, HL2, CCS, and more not so GFX intense all run fine, SP and MP all this tells me is it is something todo with BF2.

Thanks for your advice though. :)

That's good you got it to work.

I've never pushed the "play online now" button though. lol

The 'Play Now' button is the devils icon. I curse the coder that added it to the desktop. May the fleas of a thousand Linux geeks lodge in your underpants.
