Yeah I picked it up today, installed it, installed the patch and then proceeded to try to log into my gamespy account through it.



So I got to this cool screen with a little spinning 2 (the vertex shaders rule thats the best flouring 2 ive ever seen) with a box behind it that says "Connecting to account server"

Very informative.

So after about 10 minutes I get sick of watching the spinny little 2 spin and kill the game which is no longer responding with ctrl alt delete

I made sure my firewall had the correct ports open.
I tried DMZ plus!

I called ea's tech support number in the manual. They put me on hold for about 45 minutes, then I got an automated message that said our normal buisiness hours are between 9am and 5pm pacific, our offices are now closed.

As I hit the post button I am in the process of taking the 3 cd's for this good for flour game and walking to the microwave.

Try connecting to servers inside the game...

Are you trying to connect to servers in gamespy itself... not inside the game ?

If so , you should connect using the ingame multiplayer screen... it still uses gamespy i think, but always works great for me...

Remember, the gamespy app itself is really shity!!!
We all know that... but the game is ok...

Try this before blowing up the game... ok ?

be patient...we've all come across this at one time or another. not all of our BF2 experiences have been peachy, but hey, we're still playing, aren't we?

I've never had a problem with anything BF2 related.

in any case, tarfu, if logging in is a ***** right now, try re-installing, or try again later. the stats have been down the whole day...it might have something to do with it. frankly im a little puzzled as to why ur having so much trouble...mayhaps someone else in the forums can help u out here.

the account servers haven't been to great since the game came out, sometimes it actually takes an hour or more to connect to the account server, but thats rare(happened twice to me) most of the time its pretty quick but the server does come down... shrugs ea/dice will fix it up someday,

anywayz keep trying, sit on the screen for an hour, go have lunch, watch some tv, when ur back u should b allllll rdy to play

Ah yes, another punter - like us all - paying good money for a poorly refined and rushed game......hands up all us tards who payed dosh for a beta !! Yay!!
