512 vram vs. 256

If anyone has had the honor of playing BF2 on a 256mb x850xt pe and a 512mb x800xl, can you please tell me which ran faster?

256MB X850XT. Video Ram is not that big. You want to look for Pixil Pipelines. The X850 will beat the X800XL.

^^^^ actually mr "BombSquad" they both have the same amout of pixel pipelines.. the differnce is the clock speeds...

I'm not sure but I think the 512 just helps load textures and that kinda stuff faster. It doesn't really give u that much more performance. The X850 deffinitely owns it.

There's no need for 512mb video card right now... maybe for Doom, but you definitely wonp't see improvements because of it.
