Noob Question inside!

I just got this all running finally and played a few rounds on non ranked servers, but wanted to try ranked.

It wont let me in becuase i have "modified version" bf2 and to revert back to original before playing this server blah blah blah..

So I was thinking, and I dont even think I have updated to1.02 yet. Ah ha, that must be it.

So the only place i know how to update it is through gamespy, which takes me to the fileplanet subscription page. So i guess my question is...

Is the fact that I havent updated indeed the reason I cant play on ranked servers and is subscribing to fileplanet and updating through gamespy the only way i can update?

thanks for link delta, glad i dont have to subscribe to anything...

As for the modified content, i finally found someone tho solved that prob through forum search, apparently by reinstalling patch alot.

It still should have let me on to install-version servers, but hopefully this helps.
