    Boat Controls? Open/On Close/Off?

I was looking thru my controls, and noticed 2 for boats that don't seem to have any purpose. What are these 2 controls for?

My guess is that the open/close part is for the hovercraft transport that never made it in the game. Dunno what the On/Off would be for tho.

There were to be more water vehicles than just the inflatable boat.

A hovercraft, a big one was to be introduced, able to carry tanks and other non-aquatic vehicles across water, but because of the very same collison problems with slow-moving cars killing pedestrians was an issue with the hovercraft, it would collide with and blow up with the tanks when it moved.

This same issue existed in battlefield vietnam, the Tango transport boat was able to carry a light vehicle, but the vehicle would clip into the water and blow up when the Tango bounced around in the water.

The up/down controls were for the launch gate on the hovercraft.

would have been nice to have a hover craft on a map like operation clean sweep

In BF1942 it opens and closes the front flap of the higgins boats so the infantry can get out. I guess they just left it, maybe for mods and such.

Seems like you could fix the problem by just making the hover craft a tank spawn point once it landed, instead of trying to transport it. And for the sub idea it would seam to me (again knowing absolutely nothing about code) that it could work like the airborne spawn on Warlord (or as I heard Market Garden) only it would be in reverse use it like a Special Forces deployment and launch them in a torpedo tube to the surface.
