New Catalyst 5.7 Out - feedback?

I originally had issues getting my ati 9700 128 meg card to play the game - i was getting the common crash to desktop treatment. I couldn't get it to work with whatever video drivers came with my notebook, with the 5.4 catalysts, or whatever the newest omegas were at the time. I finally went to www.tweakguides.com and tweaked everything he recommeded, upgraded to cat. 5.6, and the game had been working smoothly since then.

last night I updated to the cat. 5.7 and, while the game still works, there are some serious issues. Halfway through a map I bailed out of a chopper and when i looked back at the chopper there was this crazy looking prism-looking effect shooting out of the chopper and blinding me to anything else in my field of vision. i should have taken a screenshot, because i can't really describe it (it was actually kind of cool looking). My question - has anyone else had any issues with the 5.7? i guess i'll just have to roll back to the 5.6 - i was really hoping the 5.7 would give me at least a slight boost in performance, though....

has anyone tried the cat 5.7 vs. the omega 5.7? i'd like to give the omega a chance, but i don't really want to waste the time if i'm going to get the same issue...

Havent had any problems with omega's 5.7s. Their the best drivers around IMO. Download the omegas and post here with your results.

I run ATI's Catalyst 5.7 w/ATI Control Panel as I had problems with the Catalyst Control Center. Other then that, I have no complaints.

What were your problems with Catalyst Control Center?

For some reason (I think a currupted download) BF2 didn't like working with it. There should have been no difference between the two, but apparently there was. And really Catalyst Control Center, is annoying if you ask me. Its slow, and the features it adds aren't worth the memory it takes up. But thats just my opinion.
