Display Memory???????

Hi all,

I was just checking in the EASY INFO on my p.c. and it says i have 64 Display memory and need 128... I never heard of Display Memory :)

If anyone knows what this is and how to get/buy more let me know.

I never heard of that one really, whats display memory????

Sounds like it is refering to the memory on your graphics card. Was it your computer that told you that you needed 128Mb of memory? What were you doing? trying to play BF2?

display memory is your video cards' memory, have you played the game yet? if so how did it run?

what graphics card do you have? if u dont no there are a number of rollouts on the easy info page, look near the bottom and it should say something like display device, open that and it should tell you the name of your graphics card,

if the game doesnt work, (i dont reli think it will with 64mb memory) you need to buy a new graphics card, try newegg and look for one with at least 128mb like the x300, ive got that now but i dont reccomend getting it, (im getting a new 1 soon :) )
if you dont mind spending ~ $110 buy the x700

I havent even played the game. Whenever I try to I get a black screen for a few minutes and then it crashes to windows.

I have a NVIDIA GeForce MX graphics card. I upgraded it throught the demo game actually and thought that was fine. maybe not.

Maybe its time to upgrade system?? Can I just take out my old grahics card? it came with pc and put another one in? no problem?? I was going to get more MBs of Ram. i only have 512 MB's. If i buy more MBs of RAM will that help my DISPLAY MEMORY/ GRAPHICS CARD MEMORY??

1st of all you defo need a 128mb graphics card or it wont work, after that if u get another gb of ram ure game wil run sweet

yea u can change ure graphics card a manual wil cum with 1 to tel u how

i got another gb of ram on top of my 512mb and it was an enormous difference, no lag.. at all

WHICH card best... radeon or nvidia for bf 2??

Yeah, ive been looking around for cards. I no thats what i have to get first now.

I have an emachine: 2.1 GHZ on a AMD Athlon MX, 448 MBs of ram. a GeForce MX Nvidia card.

Theres alot of cards too, but i going to get a Nvidia or ATI Radian. Both about the same price. so which one should i get??

For my system? which card is best. I found a 6600 for $99. and a X700 for $110. etc. Theres alot out there, but if you were running my specs which card would work BF2 best???

Thanks for all the help. Yeah - I cant wait to upgrade - this game must be awsome on a good pc. The only thing that I have thats remotely close to this gme is Desert Combat. I sick of it though :) I want to play this game so bad.

I almost blew my wad on the GAME $45 bucks . I should have got memory or new card. duh I still have a little money left. i need to spend wisely. let me know which card you guys think is best bet and ill take it from there.

Try and get 1GB ram and a 6600GT!

In th $100 range the X700 is far superior to the 6600. Go for the X700 256M version it's about $100 at Newegg.com.
In the $150 range it gets harder. The X700Pro 256M version runs 425/860 Core/Memory speeds and the 6600GT 128 runs 500/900. I'd still go with teh X700 just for the additional memory over a small clock speed difference.

i found a radeon 9600 SE 128 MB DDR 8x AGP DVI video card pm ebay. 80 bucks. that leaves me 20 bucks for memory. N.P.

One question for anyone... system requierments on the thing include: AGP 8x or 4x slot. Whats tthat?? and how can i tell if i have one on my p.c.???

I have an emachine 2800+ with a AMD Athlon MX on it.

AGP 4X/8X is the interface that your Video Card will be placed into. If you could get the exact model of your E-Machine we can search it and find the exact specs, as some E-Machines and other pre-builts use PCI (not PCI-Express!) video cards, in which case, you maybe S.O.L.

Stay away from the SE, and that is not such a great price. I would recomend this in the $80 range.

Or here are some better prices on 9600se card, although I reccomend staying away from them.
