    Ram Timings?

I had problems with bf2 and warcraft 3 frozen throne crashing randomly and discovered the problem to be with my old ram. I just got my 2 new 1gb sticks of pqi brand pc3200 ram to give me 2 gigs of ram total. I put them both in and just started up normally to let windows automatically set everything but I still had the same crash problems. The pqi website lists the timings of this ram as 3-4-4-8 so I went into bios and the ram was set to
2-3-3-6 so I manually set it to the recommended times. Are the timings that windows automatically set insanely overclocked? I havent had enough time to test and was wondering if there is a chance that this will fix my problem.

Windows didnt set them. Only the bios can set them...

Looser timings going to make it more stable but less performance.

If the machine is stable at 2-3-3-6, then leave it like that. Run prime 95 stress test to check the stability over a long period, try an hour or so.
