Servers Lately

Does anyone notice that the servers (Ranking), are now starting to lag. Each day it gets worse. I check on my computer (Maintain) to keep my system up to par. I only experience this in BF2. Anyone else?

Yeah me too sometimes.

Could just be the sheer number of people on the ranked servers means that the server hardware and bandwidth is being taxed.

I don't think it's because they are ranked per se, I think it's because of so many people using the servers that causes server performance to degrade sometimes.

That's not possible. Every server is different, and hosted in a different location, using different operating systems, etc. Whatever you may have noticed is a coincidence. If you'd come to our server you'd just as easily found that there wasn't any lag, negating your theory... unless of course you've found a way to make the entire internet lag

What I have noticed today is that badges don't seem to work (unless the listing is wrong). I have gotten over 10 kills and 10 revives TWICE and no basic First Aid. According to UBAR 5 heal points give the badge. I have done 10. I also gave away like 15 ammo packs and no badge.....is UBAR just wrong?!

64 lags me alot the other do some what alot of rank severs suck

one reason is some sort of memory leak and a restart will fix it. Our servers are set to restart every morning.

I've noticed since the latest patch that the server pings have gone up for me atleast on the server list. In game though they are normal. I actually was able to play on an art of war server today without lag. THey must have fixed everything.

I haven't noticed any lag or server delay. Also xocgx revives don't count as heal's.

Yup, they lag like hell.

Thats not a universal rule... its a huge stereotype that came about because a couple of horrible hosts went and stacked too many BF2 servers on 1 machine to generate more profit at the expense of server performance. Now ranked servers have a stigma and people don't bother to try other servers before they say stuff like "OH THEY ALL LAG".

no problems for me here,sometimes there is some lag, but it has been like this all the time, over the whole line I find it prety good

Its the datacenter that the server is hosted in and the machine's capabilities that matter, not the date. Maybe you guys have been logging into games that people are hosting on their home connections lol.
