Well this is my first post and I have been unable to find any answers after many hours of searching and googling. My rig is in my sig and in perfect running condition. Every possible driver is up to date. I have found many many people posting in many different forums about having problems with running their Sound Blasters in hardware mode with EAX enabled. I personally am able to run sound on high with hardware enabled along with EAX. Now I have always played BF2 with my 5.1 surround. Well today I decided to play with my headphones. I changed my speaker settings in my creative console as usual to headphones instead of 5.1. I load BF2 and oh whats this? No music just the sounds? So i load up the game to play and same deal. I hear no music and only certain sounds. I CAN NOT hear my gun firing or gernades going off or any weapons being fired from vehicles I am driving. Hmm I say...So i do some searching on the internet and can not find any answers to this specific problem. If I go into the sound settings of BF2 and change it from hardware to software I get all my music and sounds back, but I get hit wit ha framerate drop because the cpu is doing the work instaed of the Sound Blaster. I already tried the fix found here. http://forums.totalbf2.com/showthread.php?t=21064 Any ideas on fixing this or is this something that has t obe fixed in a patch/driver update down the road?

I'm surprised this has happened. Although in all honesty, when I throw my headset on I keep the 5.1 settings. I will try this on my rig and see if it happens to me as well.

Well I just tried it and it seems that my music still worked. Double check your Audio settings. Did this happen just once? Or is it repeatable?

It is repeatable everytime. i just put it back on 5.1 with hardware and EAX and voila!! I get my music back and it sounds great. If I put it back to headphones in the EAX CP bam right back to no music and the lack of sounds that I stated in my original post. This is starting to irk me.

Hmmm I found a work around I guess for now. If I ALT-Tab out of the game and the change from 5.1 to headphone I get all sounds and music. I shouldt have to do it like this but oh well at least I found a way to do it. Also EAX is not even working from multiple threads I have been reading. There a few over at the Creative forums. One even had some BF2 sound samples of what the gunfire, etc should sound like with EAX and damn the game sounds nothing like it. http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=21215
Here is the mp3 file I was talking about with EAX off and then on. http://www.sektion1.de/battlefield2/bf2eax/compare.mp3

I had that problem too. It was because I had certain Creative applications turned of in thebckground. If I leave all the Creative app's running it doesnt do it for me and it souinds fine.Originally posted by Tyl3n0LI'm using a Audigy2 with the lastest driver.
