Just tried bf2 on my gfs rig..

6800gt

BF2 1.02, All High, 4x AA, online PB, Dam map, 50+ fps, No start lag, a few(like 2 times out of 3 hours) times it freezes for like 2 seconds when it just need to do something, nothing you cant live with.

Just thought I'd let you know.

It was a clean format, windows install, AV/firewall install,chipset install, gfx install, bf2 install, 1.02 install, play. AV/FW is zonealarm security suite btw.

I should imagine my performance will be similar on the same rig bar brands...

Good to hear she can run the game nicely. Hopefully the new patch coming fixes what small issues your girlfriend (and myself, crap like the bugged "update server list" button) are having. I never crash, which is nice.

Its odd, I updated to 1.02 from 1.01 on my old rig and never had that button. EA messed up quite bad :>

You were supposed to uninstall the game if you have v1.01.

Basically you need two things at this point

Game from disc

v1.02 patch

I havent tried going any higher than this but I am running the game on 1024x768 with the "high" setting and 2x antialiasing. It runs very very smooth and I maybe get a 1 second chop every other round I have an athlon 64 3000+ with 1 GB of memory and a GeForce 6800. Think I should raise the res to 1280x1024?
