    Crackling Static noise...

    I've searched, and as a result of search have upgraded all my sound drivers and my ati catilyst drivers. . . etc.
    This caused game to **** up big time so spent a ***** load of time going back to standard stuff from CD. . . so, what do I need to install to fix the crackling noise, without trashing the ability to play...
    AMD 64 3000+
    2gb Corsair PC3200
    x800xl 256mb
    Gigabyte mobo
    Sorry for starting another thread on it but I don't like ressurecting.

      If something got screwed up, most likey your driver install failed, or you did not do them properly. The crackling is most often associated with the Audigy2 series card, do you have one? If so click the link in my sig and follow the instructions exactly. Hopefully it will clear that problem up.

          What sound card do you have? I have SB Live! and sometimes when I get that crackling noise, I have to use the "Restore Defaults" link in my Creative start menu folder.

              I have an Audigy2, did you try updating? Goto www.creative.com/support/ and run the "software update" (requires IE 5.5+). It will auto update anything that needs to be on your system.

                  8 channel onboard sound card on my motherboard
                  Gigabyte K8NXP-9 nForce4 Ultra
                  I've tried the newest ati driver and for some reason its given me **** with my login - can't click, have to press the up key :S
                  Anyway... ffs. I want this game but won't buy if I can't fix the problem.
