idea : kick option with a reason.

everyone has seen this in game. a kick vote coming up but you do not know why this vote is activated.

would it not be a good thing to add a comment so people know why the kick is started ?

    for example :

    - person A is team killing everyone
    - person B selects person A from the list and starts a kick vote
    - person B can now enter : Please kick person A because he is teamkilling the whole time
    - person B starts vote

This way everyone in the server will see the reason why a kick vote is brought on to this person.

The reason i was thinking about this option is because a lot of people will ask what the reason is and by doing this you can organize votes better imo.

    What do you think ?

I've wanted this since '42. It seems to me that in the history of online gaming, votes have NEVER worked. Why should we need 40 votes to get rid of a team killer on a 64 player server? It should only concern the team involved.

Also, it should only work it out on a percentage of people who actually vote, instead of making a non vote default to a no.

Yeah, unless I see a message as to why the vote was called for, I vote "No" as a reflex now. Now what if I do see a reason stated? Well, I don't know; that has yet to happen. :|:

My default is always yes - if someone is being voted, there's usually a good reason. Besides which, in all my time gaming online, I've NEVER seen a kick vote succeed in ANY game, no matter how lame the person is being - why have none of these developers got it right yet? Why should it take 40 votes to kick a TK'er? What makes them think that in a lifetime we'll ever see someone get 40 votes against their name?

You can't type the reason first -- by the time you find the person you wanna kick the reason will scroll off.

You can't start the vote first -- by the time you type the reason, people already voted no.

So, yes, I see that as one of the solutions.

And come to that.. I just hate to see "You were punished for the teamkill" .. why the hell not "You teamkilled XYZ" first, or "XYZ punished you for the teamkill"??? I wanna go grief the ahole that punished my accidental TK and I didn't even know I TK'd him!?! Seems very simple to implement, but yet they didn't do it.

Why would I vote out someone killing the other team? You need 2/3 of the server to vote and no one would vote out someone teamkilling thier enemy.

Yeah, that's true about it rarely succeeding (of coarse, assuming an admin isn't online at the time), and it's also annoying constantly seeing that white kick vote text at the bottom of the screen all game long.

I disagree about there "usually [being] a good reason." Heck, the current hourly rants about being unfairly punished for TK's proves that most who play online are not very mature (otherwise, more people would be forgiving), and odds are it was just two pilots waiting for a jet, and the one that lost the race to the "E" key got mad and initiated a kick vote. :p

No, they really did...lol. You'd type "votekick (playername)" and then a number. I think #1 meant Idle, #2 meant Tk'ing...etc.

This isn't that hard to do, It's like in XBox connect when you kick someone, you say "Noob was kicked because he didn't have enough players" instead of that message, you use "%n should be kicked for excessive teamkilling (Users' Points) Vote yes or no"

Same should be said for TK,

                            TFlanary [Teamkilled - MINE] Deathfist

TFlanary [Teamkilled - Aircraft Bomb] Deathfist

                            TFlanary [Teamkilled - Artillery] Deathfist

Of course, I still think the whole punish system should be done away with, unless users kill more then 10+ people. Or something. Take for example last night on the clone server, I was using medic, and under fire, i clicked the grenade button thinking it was the medic packs ,and meant to throw the medic pack out, but out went a grenade, and of course all the teamates run over to it *shrugs* Then they all punish me.

I think they had this in AA but... It will work but some people will just BS around anyways. I don't think vote kicking works it never works when I play, Today we had a guy with a -98 from TK's and he never got kicked and we tried like 8 times.
