Here is what I wrote to EA... I hope someone in here can help cause they seem to have lost my email address or put this support ticket in the closet...

I recently was having key mapping issues so I decided to reinstall my BF2 hoping that would correct the issue.
After the re-install, if try to connect to any server I get a message that says im using modified data and that I need to revert to an offical EA version. Something along those lines.
Well when this happened last night I decided to reformat my computer using NTFS partition. When I did the reformat I did NOT install any AV or Firewalls to make sure this wasn't the problem.
Heres what I did after the reformat:
Install XP
REBOOT
Updated all fixes and patches and SP2
REBOOT
Installed DirectX 9.0c and .NET Framework with SP patch
REBOOT
Motherboard drivers (latest form Nvidia/DFI)(DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra)
REBOOT
Installed latest ATI Drivers (x800XL 256MB PCI-X)
REBOOT
I installed BF2
REBOOT
Downloaded & Installed 1.02 patch
REBOOT
DID NOT INSTALL ANY AV OR FIREWALL
Tried to play BF2 and still getting the same modified data error BS.
Whats going on... I just did a fresh install!
Best Regards,
