lol no brainer ..... x800xl lol ..... oc it and it will pass the 6800 ultra ...it has 16 pipes too

Ok, the X850 PRO and the X800Xl are good cards (i have the X800XL, did tons of research), but he said out of those cards he specified. And oh yeah, the X850 Pro only has 12 pipelines which stinks, that was the reason i go the X800XL instead, the benchmarks for games also show that the X800XL is better, as well as cheaper. But on to the topic, i think you should get a GT, you could easily overclock to ultra speeds, it's only 100mhz more, that's real easy to do if you know how to OC. THe GT is a underclocked Ultra, that only takes 1 slot, therefore leaving you one more precious PCI slot if you are a multimedia freak and have a TV tuner card, network card etc. Fx series suck right now, for the FX5950 in 1600x1200 on bf2, it pulled off a measly 1 fps, the 9800XT couldn't even run the game at that level, the 6600GT trounces the FX series by a great margin, the vanilla 6800 is far from the speeds of the ultra or the gt, to get the memory speed of the gt, you would have to overclock 300 mhz, which is like impossible(at least for me), plus it has 4 less pipelines, and pipelines mean a whole lot. Gt, Ultra (if you don't know how to OC or if you have the money) and IF you could go with ATi, then you could get the X800XL, which is neck to neck with the 6800GT (besides Doom 3, nvidia cards trounce their Ati equivelents and more on Doom 3). And if you take ATi into notice, think about the games you play, if you play games like Doom 3 or Far Cry, then the 6800GT is better, if you play games like Half-Life 2 , then the X800XL is better, i also believe after looking at benchemarks that the X800XL performs better than the 6800GT at BF2 (at least for 1280x960 high with 4xAA), and the X800XL is cheaper, it's like 270 bucks on newegg.com, so if you like Open GL games like Doom 3, nvidia is the way to go, and if you like Direct X games, then ATi is the way to go (btw, you could just wait, ATi's next gen cards are coming out soon, the X850XTPE is already only 376 bucks on newegg.com, so that means that it will drop even more, but if you don't want to wait, then just get the current gen cards now), it all depends on the games you play basically a 6800GT could beat a X850XTPE on Doom 3, but an X850XTPE could beat a Ultra by like 10% on Half-Life 2, so think about the games you play and will play.
