Thats me I see little if any team work So I play as a lone wolf, best teamwork I ever saw was in the demo And I am constantly thinking of How to get from A to be without using main road may take me a bit to crawl crouch or slither my way there but I can usually get there and cap a flag before they realize it. I really wish there was more teamwork in server I see guys running in and capping a flag without a defensive perimeter and then after they have Capped it Running off to get the next flag a well organized team would and should have some defensive and offensive squads in it. That Way half the ring around the rosie type game play would stop.
Flanking. Not just a good military tactic...

It seems to be quite difficult to flank on the east side on Karkand though (for any team). Terrain seems too difficult. One guy on that side can take out 4 easily and it seems to be more of a gamble (who sees who first). I tend to play sniper a lot and I would guard the west flank, and depending on UAV reading maybe shoot the main herd at times. I almost always make sure I guard that side unless I get overwhelmed. Even then, I would return more south and try to push thru.
That's why I love the map - it's not too hard to predict where the enemy will be coming from.Comment

Well as a former soldier in the US Army ive always tried to get people in fps games to use tactics like flanking, bound and maneuver. But you need to practice these and have people on your team that are patient. Flanking doesnt mean you have a lonewolf doing it. You just patrol as a squad, keeping your spacing right. When you come in contact with the enemy you lay down fire while a couple people flank to the side. Obviously in a chaotic situation like fps games its hard to execute. But in BF2 you can spawn back to your squad leader. Which makes it easier to keep up a sustained attack.Comment

Yeah, good luck with that one. I wasn't in the Army (Navy here!) but I do have a sense of tactics, and my favorite of course if the Flank.. Actually, I use the 4 F's from Brother in Arms..Originally posted by Agent-X{TRIAD}Well as a former soldier in the US Army ive always tried to get people in fps games to use tactics like flanking, bound and maneuver. Find the Enemy (Easy enough in this game)
Fix the Enemy (Compliments of my not-so-smart squadmates who blindly rush forward)
FLANK the Enemy (too easy with the above)
Finish the Enemy! (My shotty does wonders for this!)
And there ya have it. Use it, and win.Comment

I'm currently a police officer and i've tried to use some building search tatics in-game;however, most the people playing have no clue. I've seen so many squads running in straight lines creating crossfire situations etc.... I've even had people get upset with me when I run by someone and not shoot at them so I can get behind them. Its better to attack an enemy from behind any day.Comment

Yeah, a lot of public players are... dumb.
Example: There's a guy trying to capture a flag, and he's standing at the corner of a building. I shoot him a couple of times with a pistol and run around the building because I was scared like a little girl. Anyhow, I loop around and I see him standing in the exact same spot, still staring at where I was. Yeah I shanked that beyotch!Comment

I flank wherever I can't come up on someone from behind. Especially if I'm with a squad mate or two. If we run in to an enemy head on and engage, I instantly run off to one side, meaning that first of all he can't possibly kill us both with the one burst of fire, and while his hands are full with the guy who is at his front, I can run straight in from his side and hose him with my trusty DAO-12. :)Comment

Again, as with most scenarios where people say: "This isn't practical when playing as a squad" this is solved, and greatly improved upon by utilizing VOIP. A squad using VOIP to co-ordinate a flanking maneuver will be able to execute that flank much, much more effectivly than any lone-wolf player. If everyone in the squad knows what they are doing you can very effectively coordinate a flank on even a large group of enemies. This is exactly the sort of reason that more people need to fully use VOIP and exploit it for it's abilities to create cohesion within a squad!Originally posted by =HzC=Heinzhard to do as a team player (especially when part of a large squad). but lone wolfs can do it I guess. I prefer team play, however.Comment
