what brand case fans are you using?

you want to find one with low noise and high air flow.

120mm is best as well, there isn't really any standout brand, they all have their ups and downs.

Mine came with my case, Aspire X-Navigator. My case temps never get about 30*C and I have a lot of hot running components (p4 3.4Ghz, X850XT PE, 1GB Kingonst DDR2-533).

I also threw out $40 for an ArticCooling Freezer7 (and some ArticSilver 5)for my P4, the thing is massive, but it does its job. 3-4*C cooler idel, 10-12*C cooler on load (after the break-in period).

got a friend who has an Aerocool dp-102 cooler and its huge (watched him sweat while he installed it). ive been looking at swiftech heatsinks for the cpu but i also want to install some better case fans . my case has inserts for 80mm fans( they just snap right in). looking for a decent cfm and dba ( lower than 45).

Right now I'm waiting for Newegg.com to get my VGA cooler back in-stock so I can order it and hopefully drop my case temps down even further (which will in-turn drop the CPU as well).

i recently lost a vid card and it was probably do to the temps in my case from the standard cooling gear im running with ( generic heatsinks and fans) -currently returning my fried card but i couldnt wait ( if msi comes through with a new card it ll make a good spare) and sprung for an ati x800 xl - great card but its sucking on hot air

Try a Panaflo FBK12G12LH, a very popular 120mm fan well written up on the Silent PC Review and OC Forums.
Also the Sanyo Denki 109R1212H1011 is an awesome fan.
Both are available from thermalfx.com for reasonable price plus shipping.
They also carry a lot of other fans and VGA Chipset Coolers as well.
Very helpful with questions about cooling and good customer service.
I personally use my 2 Sanyo Denki 120's with a PC Mods Rheobus.
Turn 'em down when not needed and turn them up when gaming and working in CAD/CAM Progs.
A great combination for any 120mm or high speed 92mm fan.

how can i measure which fan will fit? i have a spot for the back of the case, ive posted a thread about this but no one has replied, do you measure from hole to hole?

i thinking of getting one now, cuz a case im getting later also needs one for the back

plus what is the purpose of a fan on the back?

Would you recommend the 80mm Sanyo Denki version?- i have 4 fan enplacements in my case(currently filled w/ $2 generic fans) would it be wise to replace all 4 with Sanyo Denki's -maybe 2 Panaflo / 2 Sanyo Denki?
