Finally got Commander basic

I have come to the conclusion that to get this award you have to be selfish. I have tried many times without luck to get 40 points - I would drop supplys, rain down artillery and UAV until my fingers bleed .... I finally saw the light, I get zero points for the artillery and all I do is reduce the enemy players and in doing so I have less time to get the points.

I played a 32 man Karkand last night and decided to just UAV and only drop artillery VERY sparingly, I steered my forces to the empty flags and if I saw the enemy approaching to retake the flag I let them, I would then watch as my team retook the flag. I managed to get 44 points and get the award.

This is the last time I will play this way - in future when I will play commander I will try to do my best to let my team win (we still did BTW 78-0)

So if anyone is stuck getting commander just remember, by killing the enemy you are just reducing the time that you have to get the reward

wait... i thought u get points for killing enemys. like 2 points each for each person u kill with artillery. so if u kill 5 guys in one strike, u already have 10 points. and how the hell do u get points for using UAV and moving squads towards flags??

Your comm score is based on your team a lot. If you have 3 guys in the 80s then you should be in about the 40s.

Getting this badge takes a map that will be long or a map where your team will make a lot of points.

Spot out/uav infantry and then arty them plus arty kills from my experience give me 1 point per kill but it isnt added until the end of the round

i got this badge randomly, just did waht i always did when i am commander.

i dont even give orders, i jsut drop arty and use UAV lol, and i got the badge without even trying to

I'm very active when I'm a commander, I try and get as many people in squads as possible (except the few morons who refuse to).

I usually have 2 squads attack flags, and 2 defend key positions. Air assets are divereted where ever needed. Artillary right before a squad gets to a flag, and drop supplies upon request or when the squad get the flag neutral. I use scan and UAV freqently, again if it is requested, or if a squad is approaching a key intersection or control point.

As commander I stay in my own base, and defend it, and repair my own stuff (so I don't need a squad member to stay back, they can all be useful out in the field.
