I find that using your main gun (3) on single fire mode is much more accurate for distance ( when your SRAW is reloading that is )

Your missile launcher contains a laser aiming system, which has the disadvantage of alerting your target that you are aiming at them. Their laser warning system begins to whine and they will try and move out of the way or search frantically for you before you can fire. Use this to your advantage. Even if your launcher is empty just take aim (from cover of course) at the bad guy and hold him in your sights. He will get a warning tone and being freaking out looking for incoming missiles, etc. This works on Helos, aircraft, APCs, tanks etc and is a great distraction tool. Watch as hovering helos or passing jets start spewing out flares, possibly leaving them vulnerable to a real strike.[QUOTE]

also, your anti tank pistol is not just a last resort. when you become a lance corporal (and if u choose AT) your shotgun is effective at ~20 feet max. That leaves your pistol for pluggin' med-long range troops. It also saves precious missles that can be used for tanks.
Meaning, you can become quite an effective all-purpose soldier by using missles on vehicles, shotgun on close-up threats and small rodents, and the pistol for medium to long range bogeys. Oh, and theres always the knife when u want to have fun with snipers.

I have found that hitting a chopper (attack or transport) directly in the tail rotor with a rocket will destroy it instantly (yes, even at full armour with engineers on duty). I think it has to actually hit the rotor itself, which is on the right hand side of the tail. It is a difficult shot, especially at range, but good for those whoring black hawks hovering at a flag.
I personally think it is easier to go for the quick kills landing the rocket inside the cabin however.

Agreed. That, in conjunction with a friendly tank or another AT should be able to make fairly short work of a BH once the engineers in the back are dealt with.

Which leads to another tip, join up into a squad with a support and at least one other anti-tank. (You are in a squad, right?) Spread out around the point you are defending or in hills around the road you are travelling along so you can hit from multiple directions. Spot the armour/chopper as it rolls in, and/or use voip to concentrate the fire from your AT's on a single tank/APC/chopper at a time. This overcomes the annoying "need to survive long enough to get three rockets off" thing - the armour will be destroyed before it knows what hit it!
The support guy (squad leader?) should hide in the hills, spot inbound enemies, shoot at any infantry, and keep the ammo up to the anti-tank guys.

If you are being attacked by one of the attack heli's wait for it to turn sideways and aim for the gunners head (inside the canopy). The AT rockets splash will kill him and most likely scare the hell out of the pilot.

                        personally tested on the Cobra.

Yep, if you are down on the ground and a enemy attack chopper it taking off, land the rocket right on the front of the windscreen. I killed both pilot and gunner in the MEC's chopper sitting on the helipad last night, leaving the chopper intact for me to steal... :)

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i blackhawk whore quite a bit and AT missiles never set off the alarm. If this were the case it would be endlessly alarming...lol. Also in response to the guy who spoke about the one shot to the tail rotor being a kill, I think this may be true. I was flying around maashtur city with the BH and had about 90% health w/ an engineer repairing and got hit by an AT round...instant death, (not just me, the chopper blew). I was wondering how that happened.

The alarm only gets setoff if the name of the pilot shows up. Get a friend and jump onto a local/empty server and have them get into an opposing tank/apc, and pratice aiming at it and have him tell you across ventrillo or teamspeak when the "warning klaxon" illuminates. This will help you figure out at what point the missle laser sets off the alarm.

Take turns practicing the arcs and such so you can get it to never warn (blinking) and just briefly go solid right before the missle hits.

                              7. Remember Splash Damage!!

The AT missles do incredible damage in a very small area. Normally its difficult to get more then one kill when firing at a group, but against medics reviving, its especially effective. After a short firefight, wait a moment for enemy medics to run out to revive their comrades, and fire the AT missle the second you see the medic crouch down. You'll almost always get an easy two kills (the guy who was just revived, and the medic).

It doesnt have any splash damage, just a little when fired at the ground. Its a missile meant to penetrate, thats why it just flyes straight through you and you fall over dead instead of blowing up.

Also you get more damage on tanks and APCs if you shoot the rear, not sure if its the case in this game, but it should be.
