    100% working --> unplayable problems?

    I've had absolutely NO problems with BF2 since the beginning. However, I was playing a quick round today, and suddenly my fps went from 65 --> 15, hardcore stuttering, and mostly everything in the environment disappeared (terrain, people, vehicles. NOT trees/water/undergrowth). Figuring it was the server, I tried another. Same thing. Tried again, same thing. This was mid round, and now BF2 is unplayable.

    Specs:
    Athlon 64 +3200 Winchester
    eVGA 6800GT
    1 gig Kingston DDR
    Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS***

    *** = I did the 'performance boost' mod where you had to d/l a file and change it's name from OpenAL32.dll to OpenBF2.dll or something like that, supposedly fixed the stuttering that happens at the start of game.

    Help is greatly appreciated, thanks guys :)

    Have you tried single player to make sure that it is not an ISP issue first.

    It sounds serious though, what kind of cooling do you have for your video card?

    I guess those are the 2 things I would start with. Then move forward from there.
    It could be many things I guess.

      Dude the same thing was happening to me and my friend, we usually get playable fps but it was locked at 15/66.7 and just stayed there.

        The only time people get a CONSTANT 15/66.7 is when they have Mcafee firewall installed and patch 1.02. If there's another reason then please share it with us.

        Cheers

          No firewall, my temps are safe.

          I'll check SP now and edit this post in the next few minutes.

          Thanks :)

          It was just totally bizarre. Mid-round, I'm driving a boat to the MEC airfield on OCS, and suddenly *poof*.
