I just installed BF2, and imediatly patched it to 1.02. Singleplayer works fine, but my comp hangs whenever I try to log online. I can't even create an account before the game freezes. Please help.

Sometimes the account server is slow to respond. Give it some time. Otherwise you need to check your firewall/router settings, and double check to make sure Windows firewall isn't on. -
I'll disable Windows firewall. SHould I turn ZA back on. I dont like the idea of playing without a firewall and if I recall ZA didn't get along very well with bf1942. And it's not a slow server I'm getting a "not responding" message when I ctrl-alt-del.
Anyway's thx fer the help. I'll fiddle with my firewalls.Comment

Definately do. As far as I know, there are no known issues with the battlefield series and ZoneAlarm, you just have to let ZoneAlarm know to let BF2 (and BF1942) to play though completely (or "Full Access" it maybe called). Also make sure you do this whenever you update the game as ZoneAlarm will detect a change in the script.Comment
