Displaying menus with python

After looking at some of the phython scripts that came with the demo and people wrote Ive determined I know nothing about it... So my question is would i be possible for in a mod to use pyhton to display maybe little like squad select menu after selecting your team except that this one is joined up with the server thats running a tournament in order for it to put you in the right squad automatically after joining or somehting like that...

I know thrat probably didnt make since...but hey thats me...

Python is merely a scripting language, and as such cannot have any graphical elements to it, unto itself (i believe, though i am no coder, so correct me if i'm wrong). I think the answer's "No", but wait for someone with more experiance than myself to confirm before taking it as gospel.

Well there is an ability in it to add stuff onto the hud map but that might be it...i dunno
