I need to know how to make the game run at that resoulution. Whenever I try playing on my friends computer w/ my 17" LCD it has a constant FPS of 15. Whenever I add +szx 1280 +szy 1024 to the target command it doesn't work.

that resolution is meant for 21"+ monitors I believe. -
for your desktop icon, right click it > properties... under the target add this:
+menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024
forexample, mine reads:
"F:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024
it probably is working for you, just it won't say it in game... so, chekcing ur vid setitngs in game won't workComment

Anybody know why my friends computer is locked at 15fps/66.7?
His specs are:
Intel Celeron 2.8
1 gig dual channel ram
geforce fx 5700 LE
We are using my 17" Liquid Video LCD monitor that's resolution is 1280x1024, but he says he doesn't lag at his house with his monitor. Could it be the monitor and if so how do we fix it?Comment

That is probally why you have very poor performance. Turn off AA, dynamic shadows and dynamic light and you will see a significant FPS boost. I have an nVidia 6600GT and I would never put AA on, it sucks up performance big style.Comment

I run a P4 3.4, 512 RAM, GeForce FX Go5700 w/ everything on low but Texture Filtering which is at high, 4x AA and 100% view distance and still get a stable 30 FPS so his should probly run a little better than mine. We turned off 4x AA and he only still had 30 FPS, but when we turned the resolution to 1024x768 and almost everything on medium except the dynamics it stayed about the same FPS w/ no decrease. There's somethin weird about it. I hope it's not my monitor, b/c that would suck. Your settings are way too high for that spec system. The Fx5700 is useless at AA for get rid of that and try the very lowest settings and work your way up trying different combinations etc. Id do it on a full 64 man server and a large open map with vehicles to give it a good hammering.Comment

4xAA on that is probably killing you.
Also, just FYI, 1280x1024 is the native resolution of 98% of all LCD monitors produced today. Both my 17" and my 19" are 1280x1024.Comment

The AA on my system doesn't really effect...strange but that's the way it is. On my friends computer when we turned off 4x AA it got out of the 15 fps lock and was playable.Originally posted by KingOfKhaos

Shoulda saved yourself some more money and got a 6800GT and OC'd it to Ultra speeds. That or got the 7800GTX.Comment

I don't know how to OC and i could just OC the ultra and make it even more powerful. I wanted a 7800GTX but I'm 15...I didn't pay for it my parents did. I was on a tight limit, I barely got this one. After bugging them for almost a month.Comment

My 21.5" LCD monitor has a native resolution of 1600x1200x32 all settings on high, can run 70 fps with a 6800 Ultra.Comment
