This is a bizarre problem and it is obviously quite annoying because BF2 is completely unplayable at the moment. I was having alot of trouble after the installation of 1.02 staying connected to servers. Tonight I really felt like playing, so instead of just avoiding the game altogether I thought I'd try to fix it

I ran the 1.02 patch again hoping that it would be an easy fix but it told me it couldn't find the BF2 directory (I hadn't moved it of course, it was right where it had always been which was the default directory.) At this point I decided to just reinstall the game considering my install directory was pretty messy anyway with many different minimods I had made (or tried to make) cluttering up the whole area. The uninstaller wouldn't cooperate at all. Upon finishing the install shield thing the program terminated with no warning whatsoever. Aggrivated by this I just tossed the install folder in the garbage. Now when I try to install the same problem occours- the installer terminates after install shield finishes. This doesn't give me many options. I instinctively tried it again and again after restarting several times but no avail. Any help would my much appreciated, because I'd love to return to the battlefield asap! Thanks in advanced!
