Thats not totally how it works.. Past 100-200meters, the bullets 'deviation' is so horrible, your lucky to hit what your aiming at. The sniper rifle damage is fine, hell, even the scope wouldn't be so bad.. if the bullets went where I pointed. Yes, the sniper rifles have the lowest 'deviation' in the game, but they shouldnt have ~any~, the only factors should be scope drift, how well you can hide, and your skill at hitting moving targets (calculating drop of the bullet, etc).Originally posted by DefyThe Sniper only needs two claymores, one for each side, if you need more than one to cover your backs you need to find a better spot. Spec Op's should be able to disarm other C4 but not retain them, they should also be able to defuse claymores but not mines.
As for the sniper power, you cannot complain about this, the SVD yes takes 3 shots but either wait for a headshot (my option) or take three quick shots and master the recoil recovery. Making a semi auto sniper rifle with a 1 shot kill would be incredible overpowered.
DICE used a cheap substitute for an actual bullet physics type thing.. they don't drop, they just randomly have a chance to miss where your pointing, which for a sniper, is really stupid, since to even be qualified as a sniper in real life you have to hit like 95% of your targets

Well I also find it strange about the sniper rifle's damage as they never kill in one shot except headshot
Should be improved the damage
Also one more thing about Shotgun
It has some delay death after you shoot the person......
so you shoot and after a split sec the enermy dies...................
Does any one know y?

Why should it be one shot kill? If you do at lesat give it reload time like 30sec, the fact is if you are sniping, not running around melle with the sniper rifle, two shot is more than enough, you got that guy to 20 health, he wont live long yet he dont die thus helping your team quite a lot.
Theres something going around with the sniper class, you are suppose to snipe, not some kind of overpowering superman, if you dont like running up to a guy and kill him in one shot (shotgun anyone), why dont you do what you are suppose to do, snipe.

A two shot kill on the sniper rifles is fine, but the thing is.. it ends up taking 3, 4, even 5 shots because you just 'randomly' miss

I think they should take the colored tags off. Not hard to find someone say on crain by looking and then OH red tag guess ill shoot....
But sniper is fun and for the people that sit here and complain saying "i keep getting sniped and whats hard about being a sniper u sit and pop people off" Well it is hard for one u have to be able to hide good, and two you have to be able to hit your target.

All you have to do is find a unique camping spot , not the onz that ppl usaly use . 1c u find it its easy . In 1 game i managed 2 get 56 kills in a size small ( strike of kark.) All you have 2 do is pratice ur aim and shots in single player . Try shooting units that move from close/far or enemy pilots from a jet/heli after all this training i can shoot almost anything from anywere with 1 shot ....but they should add a extra voom to it that would really help the visiblity of the gun.

I don't play the kit too often but it's my backup to medic sometimes. The only gripe I have didn't bother me until about an hour ago. Was on Mashtuur at the top of a road incline and saw a guy at the corner of a building. Max dictance was maybe 30m judging by how the game does distance. No prob with my new M95 right? Zoomed in, aimed at temple (was facing another direction), waited a second to be sure of the shot, and fired....nothing. No dirt puff or anything, I was prone and had a perfectly clear shot. then he turned and owned me with his M4 in very short order.

SO dont shoot at targets further away than 100-200m!!!!! If you cant hit a target that far away, why bother trying?! Stick to targets closer than that and shoot when you KNOW you can kill them.Originally posted by WeeeOooOThats not totally how it works.. Also, to say you cant hit targets further away than 200m isnt quiiite right. I got 2 kills, both headshots, and 2 flag defends from 268m. Sure, mayyybe it was luck, but the fact it was 2 in about 5 seconds makes me think not. But as a rule I dont take shots from that far, usually fog or dust precludes you from seeing that distance anyways.

The unlocked m95 is really a barrett lite or variation which has a .50cal bullit which hitting anyone on torso would blow them in half.
This weapon should kill instantly with a torso hit, and devastate with a hit to the arm/leg etc.
Also the sniper should not be easily spotted showing up on commander scans is unfair.
When enemy simply points a gun at u even if he cant see you get a red tag above your head saying here I am kill me.
There should be no red tag above a snipers head, only friendly snipers should show the normal blue tag.
The sniper should be able to carry more claymores too and be able to pick up the claymores he has dropped again when moving, Same thing goes for the spec ops c4.
Oh and engineers should be able to disarm and use enemy mines.
So if you agree with me on some of these subjects please add comment and hopefully the powers that be will take note and change a few things.
Thanks
this is not a sniper's game... well, maybe for CS snipers, thats about it. Ive basically stopped even bothering to be a sniper. I've found spec ops uses my skills for this game well. I will wait for op flash 2 to pick up the sniper rifle again, or unless they make the damage more realistic in bf2.

Fully agree, nothing wrong with the damage or the accuracy just the red name tag. I basically sat on a hill (down a bit from the horizon) picking guys off at a long distance and it was funny to watch them search for me. Once they discovered my hideout all hell rained down on me. Got a nice 10 11 kills before being discovered.Originally posted by GSF-JaXxI think they should take the colored tags off. Actually now I think of it all you need is the delay time before the red tag pops up to be lengthened. Not to disappear entirely.

Snipers are a bit useless when it comes to defending flags and capturing them I think. They are fun to play non the less. Yea I still miss plenty even with proned with sniper , but don't forget abou the stupid bullet drop. The unlocked sniper rifle is a lot better, greater zoom and acuracy much better.
