    HELP ME!! ;) MEDIC!!!!(Hardware question)

NOTE***I just realized im in the wrong section.. of the forum. Im Really sorry for the mistake

    Hi everyone!!
I was an original bf 1942 player, If anyone has ever seen me as SoloSebo! gimme a shout!!

This game is amazing! The only problem i have is Im playing on the Crappiest graphics and im still lagging. Imagine that.. Imagine the pain im going through!! hehe.

    Just wanted to know something.
I have the minimum specs to run this program.
    1.7 Ghz AMD ATHLON
    512 DDR
    256 Video card.( ATI RADEON 9600 )

Now my question is.. HOW can i get my settings to medium AT LEaST lol..
Without spending an arm and a leg or getting a whole new computer ( WHICH ive considerd)

Someone suggested for me to get an extra stick of ram. Extra gig so that would would increase my ram by 1.5

My problem is that im not sure that will do the trick all i want is medium settings lol..

Ive defraged ive cleaned my computer. A friend of mine also said try giving your computer atleast 10 gb of free space. Which currently i have 7. So what i would like to know is should i free up that space or is it only BS? (space is precious) hehe

If anyone has some more info please help me out! Note to anyone who helps me out MONEY IS A QUESTION! lol..

Thanks again everyone Currently browsing forums.!

Im currently looking at posts.. Alot of ppl say this game eats ram like i eat pasta !!!
So i think more ram will be a good Solution!
Any more opinions would be a great help!

also turn off any background programs. Do Ctrl Alt Del and under processes tab close all programs under your user name except explorer.exe or your taskbar will disappear. I also read that Xfire could cause bad performance.

RAM is probably is a good first step. Jump up to 1GB.

Next step is upgrading your graphics card...

          Good luck!

Yeh RAM is the way to go i bought another 512mb Stick for £20.00 think thats about $30.00 and mine runs alot smoother now. But ive only got a 126mb ati 9600, so yours should run alot better then!

              This is what I'd do:

#1- RAM, contact your RAM manufacture and request the same exact module (down to the version number). Most companies are more then happy to do this at no extra charge. This will allow you to run dual channel if your motherboard supports it.

#2 - Graphics card, if you're looking mid-range, get a XFX 6600GT, best bang for your buck right now.

#3 - Sound card, I cannot stress how important this is, especially with this game! This games was designed to use the newest technologies available (thats what a lot of hardware isn't supported).

#4 - CPU/Mobo, upgrade it to an AMD Athlon64 and a socket 939. However if you do this you will need a PCI-Express graphics card not AGP (which is what you have now). So if you do this, you need to get a graphics card.

All inall, I'd say try the system memory first.
