Ok I only have $500 total to spend on a system and I need a monitor as well. So what do you guys think I’ll get for settings? I can NOT go over $500.

please stay away from the FX series nvidias...check newegg for a refurbed 6600gt or something better then a 5500 on newegg. sort by lowest price, Good luck.

Yeah I only have $500 and I need everything. I can get a ripped versions of XP. Thanks tho.

I can get you a deal on a 9600xt for 50 bucks. thats much better then then 5500

I think you'll maybe get low settings, if that with that set-up.

-80 + 90mm cooling fans

The total was 584, and all of that stuff is budget stuff, so i really don't think you'll be able to get a computer running BF2 decently on a 500 dollar budget, especially considering you need a monitor as well.

Well in your initial post you asked what settings do we think you would get.....

And that 65 dollars could go towards something like RAM or the graphics card, 65 dollars is alot when you're on a 500 dollar budget.

Ebay a NIB Monitor for 20 bones, then get another 512 of ram, or else u will experience alot of lag, unless you plan on playing with 12 peolpe or less.

If you can get another 200 bucks, you could get this:

Get another 512 of RAM (45-50 bucks), eBay a monitor, still have 120-130 bucks left over, and then get a refurbed 6600GT.

if Your seriously lookin into saving money then google, pricewatch, tigerdirect,newegg stuff...a 65 dollar refurbed monitor is about 10-15 more then you'll pay at tiger, Id make a list for ya but you seem like your getting grumpy..so I'll just stand back and watch. :laugh: :p

That's pretty decent. You can overclock the 3000+ to a 3800+ fairly easily with stock cooling as well if you wanted to go that route to get even more for your money. If you want to take a small step back you can get a 2500+ XP barton core, put it in a 400Mhz mobo and run the CPU FSB at 400Mhz to get you the equivalent of a 3200+ XP. Would be cheaper.
