I Need A Laptop!

okay here is the situation....some of my next years classes are going to require a wireless laptop or a pda...i laugh and say BAH to the pda idea....its not even worth trying am i right?

If i got a PDA though the good thing is that its nice and light, and i will have to use one of those foldy keyboards and my overall thought about that is not very practical and it will require wireless...so...i dont think this is my best option.... but its a tad bit cheaper and welll...seems more appealing to me cause i dont want some big heavy thing on my back while im walking around campus.

My other option is to get a laptop with centrino proccesing, and wireless like 802.11 yatta yatta yatta... it needs to be light again...im all for the light stuff... and well i dont want to spend much either...

MY BUDGET: $700-american all the way to free...if this can happen////

this is not some gamimg MACHINE thats big and bulky that i need its more of a mobiliy contest really....

Please help me find a decent deal on a laptop around $700 or you can even convince me to get some high end PDA ....please respond..

Well what centrino are u looking for? Mumsey has a Centrino on her Dell 9200 and it says its 2.2ghz which in pentium 4 terms equals roughly about 3.2 ghz!

Get a Dell. Their notebooks are the only thing worth buying. They suck for PCs, but their notebooks are nicely made. I am considering buying one as well.

PDAs are trash IMO. I don't think they are useful, but some people love them. I'd say pick up the new HP one, as I have heard good things about it (I forget the model # off hand).

yea ive seen those too... i think i want to go with a secondhand dv1000 from HP. my cuz got one from costco and returned it 6 months l8r lol such a long warentee (spelling) im looking at one on ebay right now that looks pretty good..heres the link

if ur just using a laptop for word processing and **** not gaming. seriously look into a iBook by Apple.
Pros:
light
affordable
easy to use
no spam, spyware, viruses, adware
sleek and sexy

Cons:
teacher may require a windows OS

i got two laptops. one is for me and i am thinking about selling the other one.
512mb, 1.7ghz centrino tech, Nvidia graphics card, 80g of harddrive space, windows pro, i can put in a bunch of programs like adobe pro, corel and all of that stuff. i just wanna know that r u looking for a gaming laptop or one for edu. or office work. and it also has 802.11g wireless card. it has the most expensive lcd. i think its samsung not sure. So tell me if you are interested and tell me about in which state you live. I used to play bf1942 on this comp. also css and hl2 without any issues.
