Nvidia users help with 7800 GTX please

I am getting low Frames

I am avg 60-70 with everything on high at 1024 *768

at 4xAA on the same settings I vary 30-90 and I get mouse lag like crazy.

I am running a fresh install of windows (no sp2 yet)

BF2 is patched with the latest

evga 7800 GTX (I am new to Nvidia) 77.72 driver

I also downloaded riva tuner to check clock speed and it is set at 450/1200

ASUS A8n-SLI

1 gig of ram

I am unaware of any bios flash

Maxtor 120 ATA/133

AMD 3500x 64

Mouse MX 518 latest drivers

does it happen at the begining or all the time, as the begging is usual. But my 6800GT sufferes from this at the begining

If you only have 1 gig of RAM i would blame it on that, friend of mine had the same problem, upped his ram and it runs fine now.

Get the 77.76 beta driver. They are supposed to have quite a few fixes and improvements for the 7800's especially for AA. 2G of RAM would also help though.

well get some decent 1gb of ram as the cheap stuff runs crap but when i put some corsair 1gb in bye bye lag :)

I tried that beta driver and it did not help much, thanks though...

Nevertheless, I was thinking that the RAM would not have that much impact on Frames Per Second. And the bench marks for the 7800 GTX are huge.

I wonder if it is this particular card that is doing the suck... I could RMA.

I could also get more ram and yes I am using generic crap ram.

well i get those settings and our comps are....well a little different... the thing that i am thinking about right now is i have winxp 64 bit but tahts not a huge difference i would think.... yesterday i was having major lag and this is what i did to solve it.... DEFRAGMENT your harddrive.. it was a HUGE boost just incedible.. you should do it too... try that then see your results

What's your AGP aperture size in the BIOS? You really want it at 256MB with that setup and BF2. Also turn fast writes on or off depending on what they are set at now and see if that helps. Other than that I'm not really sure.

Anyway, there is nothing wrong with the GTX for BF2. I have one and its unstoppable. Get more ram, its needed.

Im running 2 x Asus 7800GTX's in SLI and playing 1600 x 1200 with 4 x aa and 16 x af and getting average 80 - 95 fps...Smooth as silk and looks awesome.
