  • Computer reboots during play of BF2

This is the second time it has done this to me. I have the latest drivers for my video card 5.7's. I have a Amd Athlon XP 3200+ 2.2ghz 1 gig of pc3200 ram 400 mhz audigy 2 value sound card 200 gb wd hard drive 10,000 rpm. I also have a 350 watt power supply. I have heard that my X850 XT could use more then a 350 watt ps. Could this be causing the reboot of my computer?

        viruses? spyware?

try downloading ad-aware and see if you have any spyware clogging up your system.

I did an adaware scan found the problems they were eliminated. Did a virus scan no problems. And did a spyware scan no problems there either.

Sounds like the PSU could be the problem. 350W is bordlerline for that kind of rig. Some PSU's can just about cut it, others can't. This is why some people get away with it and others don't. Get a cheapo 500W or something like that. Doesn't have to be fancy. If you can try one from a friend or something first though just to see if it stops it that would be best.

my processer is 32C and i have over 6 fans running at over 2,000rpm but my PC was rebooting because my heatsink wasnt on tight enough. even though it wasnt on tight enough my BIOS still said my processer is 32C. check if your heatsink is on tight enough

It the freakin game, mine crashes to desk top either when I join or after I'm in game, sometimes I get to play an hour sometimes 5 minutes. A bigger power supply won't fix anything but you could use it anyway, at least 450 minimum. As for cooling try a tornado (2-5000rpm) fan, ($10.00), loud but really cools the insides. Get 2, one for front and back. 30 c is not hot, no problem with the heat there. An after market cpu cooler would be better just cause it cools better, $30-50.00. I have a 600 watt power supply with a 3.4 P4 (Hotter anyways than AMD), I have a gigabyte CPU cooler, 5 case fans, 2 of which are the tornados, plus a hd cooler on the raptor sata drive, and three small fans in 5.5 slot. Stays nice and cool.

THIS GAME HAS HUNDREDS OF BUGS THAT NEED FIXING. Hopefully the next patch (1.03) will do it.

Well for one its not my computer or hardware. It is the game. I just got done playing UT2004 red orchestra for an hour no reboots or crashes on that game. ON UT2004 i have everything high and AA 6X and AF 16X and no problems. Its not the PS.
