*cough* Err...anyway. You have a good point. I don't know why there are five bases and an airfield where water will probably be. I guess the dam is still under construction, so they haven't moved them yet...or...something...

They made a dam, because they felt like wasting money even though they didn't have water.

i've been thinking about that one too... i have no idea... a good guess would be that dice didn't think before mapping...

edit: the mec air field is not going to be flooded, haven't you seen those big as hell pipes on the ground between the dam and the base? my guess would be that those are water pipes... or something... but everything on the other side will indeed be flooded

or its the best layout for overlooking targets, meaning if all the bases was on the top of the hillside it would be pointless in looking down to all the open space below the damn and it they would have filled it with water would it of caused too much lag with frame rates?

maybe the dam use to be in use. maybe they blocked the river elsewhere. maybe they are deconstructing the dam.

its either being built or being torn down. look at all the cranes and half finished crap around the place. then again maybe the level designers were just lazy.

Like in "Real Life" The Chinese Three Gorges Dam was built for quite a few reasons. The major to help control a flooding issue that has been around for ages. Relocation of thousands of people towns will be buried underwater,etc...

So take that into consideration and possibly the game version could corallate to "real life" in some way or form. Also a couple of bases and an airfield to help protect the workers on building such a large scale piece of work.

usually when a dam is being built, they detour the water, or allow little of it to flow, so they can do the work.
lol actually i have no idea, but it seems to make sense.

The water has been diverted while it's built ... hense all the cranes and half built concrete molds ect, when war moved in they converted the construction sites in to bases to defend against the US aggresion.
