    Time to return BF2?

Well alot of time has past and still theres no fix for my problem, wich is stuttering, when i use ALT-Fire it stutters and its impossible to shoot right. Ive tried multiple things to fix it, reformatting, unninstalling and reinstalling drivers, tryin older drivers, installing punkbuster manually, deleting folders in cache, hmmm i dont know ive spent more time tryin to make this game work smooth than actually playing it. I had hope that a catalyst or a Bf2 patch would fix it but no its still there. Any suggestions?

    AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1.00 GB 2.00 Ghz
ATI 9800 Radeon Pro 256 DDR
    Latest Catalyst and Omega drivers.

Turn Dynamic Shadows OFF, Dynamic Lighting on LOW, and Texture Detail down to MEDIUM if it is on High.

These are the 3 biggest performance breakers....

If this doesn't help, I'm not sure what the problem could be..

Turn everything to low then build from there.

Everything on low, DL off, DS off, AA off, stuttering still there on a 45ping server. It looks like the more players there are in the server the worse the stuttering is. And the weird part is that i always had stuttering but this alt fire stuttering is new, i didnt have it 4 weeks ago and also whats weird is that i uninstalled the 5.7 catalyst driver and installed 5.6 and it was gone! for about 20 mins and out of nowhere while i was playing it started happening again, this happend like 3 weeks ago or so.

I dont know why people return a game when theres fixes coming its not like were playing console games here.. All you need is a little patience. Just keep the game...Or you can go through the hassle of returning it.

Hell you can't even return an opened pc game, atleast not in the usa.

I hate to suggest this, but maybe you should consider it before you return the game. A fresh install of windows (???)... I know it's a pain in the arse, but it might be worth a try. Start with a clean slate to install the game onto.
Panic - Dude paid 50 bucks a month ago and his game is basiclly unplayable... I've had to work through alot of problems with the game myself (admittedly some were my own fault)... I know there's been an abundance of EA bashing, but this is pretty ridiculous.

Actually i can return it in for store credit in ebgames, theyll probebly give me 25 store credit wich is the same as 25 bucks but it aint money. And like i said before i had reformatted my computer and installed bf2, tried it without the game patch, stuttering still there, tried with the patch, stutter still there, then i tried with catalyst 5.6 and it actually worked smooth for about 20mins and all of the sudden it started doin it again.

Turn your sound settings down, and onto software.

I also have the stuttering crap going on but I've just bit my lip and lived with it. The gameplay is too fun but I really hope a fix is coming soon for this.

dude you have to start at the bottom and work your way up...i mean turn off or shut down everything in windows you dont need, all the programs running in the background. then run the game with everything on low and one graphic detail at a time go up.

The 1.03 patch will optimize alot, so be patient.

Anti virus/Firewall off on the background thats all i ever have on the background, on the audio part it was already on Software i turned the audio detail to low and the stuttering is still there. So everything on Grapichs detail to audio detail is on the lowest, i dont get whats the point of goin up on the detail if it is still there on low? it did help alittle but cmon i mean jeez with my system (im not saying that its the best) i should be able to play the game fine with everything on medium and AA off. On the demo i never ever had any stuttering what so ever it worked smooth always with the grapichs on medium AA off on 64 player servers.
